Question: How do I get the headers from my email in Outlook

My system administrator told me he needs to look at the internet headers on my email.  I use Outlook, how can I see them?

    Solution:

[--- UPDATED: 12/6/2006 1:37:37 PM BY AGENT: Leah Meza ---]

In Outlook, open the message in its own window, not in a preview window (double click on it so it is its own window).

    Go to View and Options

A new window will open and the last box on the bottom says Internet Headers and is filled with text like:

    Received: from barracuda.netaspects.com (65.74.162.252)
              by mail.netaspects.com with MERCUR Mailserver (v5.00.19 MTEwLTI2OTUtNTEzNQ==)
              for <smiller@netaspects.com>; Wed, 1 Nov 2006 12:09:01 -0800
    X-ASG-Debug-ID: 1162411739-12811-221-0
    X-Barracuda-URL: http://barracuda.netaspects.com:8000/cgi-bin/mark.cgi
    Received: from mxsf19.cluster1.charter.net (mxsf19.cluster1.charter.net [209.225.28.219])
by barracuda.netaspects.com (Spam Firewall) with ESMTP id 966CF3DAB
     for <smiller@netaspects.com>; Wed,  1 Nov 2006 12:08:59 -0800

Select all of it and use the copy command (ctrl c)

Close that window and go back to Outlook.  Start a new message and paste the bodies into the header.  Send that message to whoever is looking for them.

Question: Someone is using my website to send spam
I received the following e-mail. The client wrote to let me know that an email address on my website is is advertising products and sending spam.

Is there anything we can do about that? I don't want my website used for sending spam!

    Solution:

[--- UPDATED: 7/12/2007 2:40:05 PM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

Most likely it is being sent from a spoofed email address. You can check and see if the Email address exists and someone really IS using it, but most likely it is Spoofing.

Email Address spoofing is very common by spammers. They take a real domain name and make up a fake email and send out spam. They will send out hundreds of thousands of email from that address.

It tricks some mail servers into accepting the email because they they check, the website really exists, so they (mistakenly) assume the email address is valid.

There is absolutely nothing you can reasonably do about this phenomenom. It is simply a part of the internet. Who an email is from is VERY easy to falsify, so spammers do it to mask their identity and increase their chances of delivery.

Think of it like postal mail. Someone could send out a bunch of advertisements and write your home address as the sender, and there is nothing you could do to stop them. You couldn't even figure out who did it, the postal service doesn't track it that way.

Spoof email address work the same way.

Question: I am unable to send to a Comcast email address
I am getting a lot of undeliverable messages from Comcast, what is the cause of this?

    Solution:

[--- UPDATED: 12/15/2007 2:02:57 PM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

[--- UPDATED: 12/15/2007 2:02:10 PM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

Comcast has implemented a spam filter which labels all email from companies who send volumes of email as spam.  This is situation impacts SalesAspects when using the email noitification or eFarming systems.  Comcast considers any of this type of email to be spam, requested by their account holders or not.

Net Aspects is working with Comcast to request that they change their spam filter, however, at this time, Comcast believes they are correct in blocking all email from companies who send out eFarming and email notification, and, as such, has blocked all email from SalesAspects.

Net Aspects is also working to develop an alternative opt-in solution to ensure that any messages sent to Comcast customers are pre-approved by the recepient.  As this solution will take signifigant time to develop, Net Aspects continues to actively work with Comcast in hopes they will adjust their filtering strategy to not block valid, requested email.

At this time the most effective method to ensure the ability to send invidual (hand composed) email to Comcast customers is to refrain from using eFarming or email notification to send email to comcast customers.  NetAspects recommends removing any email address at Comcast (address@comcast.net) from email notification or eFarming campaigns.

When Comcast adjusts their filtering strategy, we have put in place the opt-in software, or there are other changes to the problem, we will provide updates.

    Question: mls data outage

    18 December 2007

You are experiencing one of the following

    - Your website does not load correctly or presents an error
    - The property search does not work on your website

    - Functions in the virtual toolkit do not work correctly
    - You are unable to login to SalesAspects

Solution: All search items are repaired in all cases. All public MLS are back online and functioning correctly.   All results pages and detail pages are repaired.  We are final updating photos for non RETS mls and will reactivate Email Notification when complete.

[--- UPDATED: 12/21/2007 4:24:53 PM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

Email notification is still offline and will be offline until at least the evening of Friday, 21 December.

[--- UPDATED: 12/20/2007 5:42:16 PM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

The advance search page, in a few select cases, is demonstrating an error selecting critieria. We are aware of and working on the problem.

[--- UPDATED: 12/20/2007 3:02:06 PM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

Property searches have been reactivated on websites. A few MLS are still undergoing repair, so a few markets may not come up for a few more hours. Listings pages and MLS photos will continue to populate and increase in frequency.

[--- UPDATED: 12/20/2007 11:33:14 AM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

During the initial phases, property details may have incorrect formatting, those will be fixed as the mls systems are brought back online. Photos may also not immediatley appear, as we load the data prior to the photos.

[--- UPDATED: 12/20/2007 10:23:12 AM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

We've started reactiving broker listings in markets where the data is restored, and expect to reenable more markets as we proceed through the day. Property searches will be reenabled as complete data is available starting after listings.

[--- UPDATED: 12/20/2007 9:10:05 AM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

The restoration of structure and software is proceeding, and the data restoration is ready to begin as soon as the structure is in and stable.

[--- UPDATED: 12/19/2007 9:22:06 AM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

Current restoration efforts are proceeding normally. We have temporarily directed all property searches to a lead form to capture client information instead of presenting them with nothing.

[--- UPDATED: 12/18/2007 4:03:25 PM BY AGENT: Scott Miller ---]

The evening of 17 December, NetAspects experienced a failure in the MLS Listing inventory database system. This caused listing inventory to be unavailable and websites to present errors.

NetAspects is currently working to restore listings to the websites, as well as correct any errors which are being presented.

This page will be updated as repairs are completed or other updates are available.
